Sweden’s largest onshore wind farm – Havsnäs
Havsnäs Wind Farm is located on three mountain tops north of Strömsund in Jämtland, Sweden. SIC AB has constructed a 30 km road system with crane standings and foundations. The work was done in the period from the summer of 2008 to the summer of 2010. The wind farm is Sweden’s largest wind farm.
Scope: The project includes 48 turbines with a total effect of 95.4 MW.
Client: NV Nordisk Vindkraft.
First farm constructed in mountain environment – Uljabuouda
Uljabuouda Wind Farm was constructed in a mountain environment in the vicinity of Arjeplog in Norrbotten County in Sweden. SIC AB took over the completion of the road system with new establishment of crane standings and foundations. The work was completed in the summer of 2009. The project was the first large wind farm to be constructed in a mountain environment.
Scope: The project includes 10 turbines with a total effect of 30 MW. Client: Skellefteå Kraft.
Hedboberget – Stages I & II
Hedboberget Wind Farm, Stages I and II, is located in Furudal in Dalerne County in Sweden and was constructed in two stages. In Stage I, executed in the summer of 2008, SIC AB constructed 8 km of new roadway, upgraded 4 km of existing roadway and established foundations and crane standings. In this project seven of the foundations were established as RockAdapters anchored in the mountain. Stage II is underway and includes six turbines, now with a hub height reaching 105 meters. SIC AB is also constructing a mix of four RockAdapters and two gravitation foundations. The work will be completed during the course of 2010.
Scope:
Stage I includes 9 turbines with a total effect of 18 MW.
Stage II includes 6 turbines with a total effect of 12 MW.

Extreme bedrock conditions – Svoldrup Kær
Svoldrup Kær Wind Farm is located in Vesthimmerland Municipality, three km south of Farsø in Denmark. SIC A/S has done road and foundation work for six turbines. Roads and crane standings are constructed in field areas where environmental protection and the extremely poor soil conditions have been taken into consideration. During the foundation work it was necessary to drop the ground water level and in that connection all water that was pumped up was purified for ochre before being returned to the natural environment. The work was done in the summer of 2010.
Scope: The project includes 10 turbines with a total effect of 14 MW. Client: Wind1.
